Your main tasks

What you’ll do:

In FISCHER USA's Registered State of Wisconsin CNC Machinist Apprenticeship you will be trained a variety of manufacturing processes including CNC turning, milling, grinding, and programming.

If learning from a qualified machinist or journeyman coupled with classroom machining fundamentals sounds like your type of learning environment this is the gig for you!

You will get hands on training on all aspects of manufacturing including maintaining and servicing equipment, machine programming and operation, inspection equipment and techniques.

Learning Opportunities:

  • FISCHER USA’s training program together with your hard work and study will transform you from a person with mechanical aptitude into a highly skilled machinist prepared for a successful metalworking career.
  • 8,320 creditable training hours, 576 hours of classroom instruction, as outlined in the training plan approved by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Under direct supervision, develop the skills to set-up and operate Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machine(s) and manual manufacturing equipment.
  • Learn how to read CNC programs, make necessary offsets, and machine parts to close tolerances.
  • Deburr sharp corners or edges from parts providing the final part quality.
  • Learn to read and comprehend blueprints and use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Responsible for inspection of his/her own work.
  • Participate in efforts to continually improve processes.
  • Must be willing to perform other tasks as required.
  • Follow quality and safety rules.
